AnkitBhattarai
I build resilient infrastructure, debug complex systems, and configure networks that don't go down at 3am.
The person behind
the packet traces
I'm a Computer Engineering student at Kathmandu University with hands-on experience in network infrastructure and backend systems. Currently interning at Swift Technology where I work with real enterprise networks daily.
My work lives at the intersection of networking and software — configuring Cisco switches and FortiGate firewalls by day, building streaming platforms and blockchain apps by night. Understanding the full stack, from IP packets to application layers, makes me a sharper engineer.
When I'm not troubleshooting microservice connectivity failures, I'm leading technical operations for Rotaract KU or building open-source tools for network analysis.

Where I've worked
System & Network Intern
● Currently Active- Configured and managed Cisco switches including VLANs, STP/RSTP, routing, port security, and ACLs to maintain secure network segmentation.
- Installed, configured, and monitored FortiGate firewalls to enforce security policies, manage VPN tunnels, and handle threat prevention.
- Monitored Linux and Windows servers using Nagios to ensure high availability of production services.
- Managed web servers (Nginx, Windows IIS) and Active Directory to support internal infrastructure and authentication.
- Troubleshot network and system-level issues, including microservice connectivity failures and performance bottlenecks.
- Assisted in patch validation, deployment support, and maintaining smooth production operations in a hybrid Linux/Windows environment.
B.E. Computer Engineering
In Progress- Pursuing Bachelor's in Computer Engineering at Dhulikhel, Kavre, Nepal.
- Built an extensive project portfolio spanning networking, backend, blockchain, mobile, and graphics domains.
- Active leader in Rotaract KU as IT Head and International Relationship Chair.
Things I've built
JPCAP – Java pcap Wrapper
Real-time packet capture and analysis library using native pcap. Useful for debugging network behavior at microservice or system level.
Enterprise Network Simulation
Designed enterprise-grade network topology using VLANs, OSPF, STP, VTP/DTP. Tested redundancy, failovers, ACLs, and multi-layer switching.
VMax – Movie Streaming
HLS-style video streaming platform with Redis caching and FFmpeg transcoding. Designed for scalability and low-latency delivery.
DineSmart – QR Food Ordering
QR-based food ordering system with authentication, role-based access control, and a microservices architecture.
Empower Finance – Blockchain Lending
Decentralized lending platform with Solidity smart contracts and a React/Web3 frontend. Built on Ethereum testnet.
NepseScraper – Stock Crawler
CLI tool for scraping and parsing NEPSE OHLCV market data. Demonstrates automation, parsing, and data pipeline skills.
GuitarTunes – Chord Recognition
Real-time guitar chord detection with signal processing and a visual feedback display. Cross-platform mobile app.
Medical Store Management
Desktop inventory and billing system with full CRUD operations, reporting, and a MySQL relational backend.
Fractals – GPU Visualization
Rendered Mandelbrot, Julia, Dragon Curve, and Fractal Tree sets using OpenGL. Explores mathematical beauty via GPU rendering.
Credentials earned
Beyond engineering
Led technical operations for events, digital systems, and automation tools. Responsible for all tech infrastructure of the chapter.
Managed international collaborations and represented the chapter globally, building cross-border partnerships and communications.
Let's work
together
I'm actively looking for opportunities in networking, backend engineering, or infrastructure roles. I respond quickly — let's build something solid.
